As part of Year 4’s DT topic ‘Making Mini Greenhouses’, the students made mini greenhouses made out of different materials and structures. Whilst making their greenhouses, the students thought about the following:

- How can I make the structure stable?
- Which materials are most suitable?
- How can I create an airtight seal?
- How can the plants get access for watering?
- How can the greenhouse be ventilated?
After making, the students evaluated their greenhouses considering the following:
Evaluation
- How stable was the structure?
- Could you improve it?
- Does it perform its purpose?
- Are materials joined securely?
