RWI Phonics
Right from the beginning of Reception, we use Read Write Inc. Phonics which is a highly successful English programme.
The Read Write Inc. Phonics programme is carefully matched to the curriculum, giving every child at Quwwat-Ul-Islam Girls’ school the best chance of success.
The programme helps children learn to read fluently and at speed so that they can focus on developing their skills in comprehension, vocabulary and spelling. The programme is designed for children aged 4-7. However, we will continue teaching RWI to children beyond the age of 7 if they still need support in their reading.

Parent video: Sound blending
Your child will be ready to blend sounds together once they have learnt the first group of sounds (m, a, s, d, t) and can say them in and out of order at speed.
