During the 2025–2026 academic year, Student RE Matters is running an exciting programme exploring Belief in Action, which focuses on learning about different religions and beliefs and how they support the local community in Newham.
As part of this initiative, some of our Year 9 students had the opportunity to visit St Angela’s Ursuline School along with students from other local schools. The visit included a range of engaging sessions exploring religion and beliefs within the Newham community, as well as opportunities to learn about the important work carried out by local charities.
On Tuesday 28th April 2026, Year 9 students visited a gurdwara to deepen their understanding of Sikhism and its core values. The visit provided an opportunity to learn about Sikh beliefs and practices, as well as the importance of community, equality, and service to others.
Students were able to explore the place of worship and take part in langar, the free community meal that is central to Sikh tradition. The experience helped bring classroom learning to life and encouraged reflection on shared values across different faiths and communities.
